Custom Knit
Refers to a jersey design created as an original knit in pattern. You choose the yarn colors of the jersey and where they are knitted into the garment. There is no limit to how many colors can be used.
Standard Jersey Design
Refers to the styles of jerseys that are offered as part of our Custom Factory Embroidery Program or Local Embroidery Program. These styles are silhouettes of already determined knit in patterns offered in predetermined colors for each program.
Custom Knit Program (Gold)
Our top factory direct program offered in minimum quantities of 100 pieces per style. Options included details such as color choice, Zipper styles, as well as pocket, cuffs and collar construction. Embellishment is available in essentially any location on the jersey and in any embroidery stitch option listed below.
Custom Factory Embroidery Program (Silver)
Our most popular factory direct program offers minimums as low as 35 pieces per color. Jersey options must be selected from one of our Standard Jersey Designs offered in the current embroidery programs. Embellishment is available on most locations on the jersey and in any embroidery stitch option listed below.
Custom Factory Embroidery Program (Bronze)
Our most flexible program offers minimums as low as 15 pieces. Like our Silver Program, jerseys are selected from the Standard Jersey Designs offered in our current program. Stitch options are limited to our Flat Stitch embroidery and Laser Cut Flet.
Chain Stitch Embroidery
Is the process of embroidery where we use the same wool yarn as we knit the jerseys with to embroider your designs on your jersey. This is the most classic and highest aesthetic quality embroidery you can have on your jersey. Chain stitch embroidery is only available in our Gold and Silver Programs.
Flat Stitch Embroidery
Is the process of embroidery where we use Polyester thread to embroider your design on your jersey. Polyester allows more detail in the embroidery application for clarity of smaller letters and logos. This process is available in all three of our programs and is our most popular embroidery option for our Bronze Program.
Laser Cut Felt Lettering
Is the process of laser cutting letters and logos in Felt and stitching them onto the jersey. This process produces a vintage look that is offered in all three programs.
Quarter Zip
Refers to the zipper style and length of our base silhouette. Zipper length for this style is 6.25 inches and is designed to not break the stripe patterns on the front chest of our jerseys.
Full Zip
Refers to the incorporation of Full length, Two-way Zippers in our jerseys turning our Quarter Zip design into a Trainer.
Trainer
Refers to a full zip jersey. It makes no reference to Fabric Weights of any other construction features on the jerseys such as Raglan Sleeve or Straight Arms whole construction.
Fabric Weights
Our jerseys are designed to be 335 GSM or as we refer to as a medium-weight. Both long and short sleeves are the same weight. This allows us to offer the same design in both Long and Short Sleeve styles in our Silver and Bronze Programs. Heavier weights are available in our Gold Program.

Reorders are not subject to any additional design costs.
Strike-Off
Refers to a fabric swatch we receive from the factory for each specific embroidery file we create for your renderings. The Swatch and the embroidery yarn are supplied in available colors and do not reflect the color of your jersey or embroidery. We email JPGs of these files to you for youre your approval, which is required to move forward with production.
Lab Dip
Lab dips are for custom color dyes. They are small samples of your color spec on a swatch of fabric for your approval. Approval is time sensitive and requires immediate response in order to keep your order timeline on track.

FAQ’s
Can I get a sample size set?
Yes. We can send you a sample size set for help in determining fit. We will need your shipping info and require a Credit Card to cover shipping cost. Earth, Wind and Rider is not responsible for any lost or damaged jerseys and we will charge your card in the event this occurs. Available sizes: Mens sizes run from SM - XL, XXL is available on request. Womens sizes run from SM - XL.
How long will it take to get my jerseys?
From the date of your order we quote 90 days for our Gold program. Our Silver and Bronze programs are quoted as 120 days from the closing date for each delivery option.
Can I get more than one color jersey?
Color minimums are 100 pieces for our Gold program. For Silver it is 35 pieces per color and for Bronze the color minimum is 15 piece.
How much does it cost?
Prices will vary based on the program you choose (quantity), the amount of colors per jersey, the amount of embroidery per jersey and your type of organization i.e. whether you are an organization (team/club), retail partner (bike shop), or brand (manufacturer). The cost-per-unit will typically range $85 to $95.
"Ive got a business to run. How long will this take?"
If you follow the program guidelines (see: how to get started) the total time you will spend on getting us your information should be no more than 1.5 hours. We are always available by phone to discuss any aspect of our programs.
You do not currently offer a jersey in our shop colors, how can I get one made?
At 100 jerseys, we will happily dye to match your colors (note that this may increase your production time). "Maybe" applies when you want less than the 100 piece minimum. We often have customers who want a particular color, but who cannot meet the minimums needed, so we will try to pair with another customer who would also wants that color/style. This can be very time consuming and often leads to missing an entire ordering window. Your best option is to choose a jersey that would work with your colors (black goes with everything) and have it embroidery in your colors. We suggest the aforementioned "pairing" approach as an alternate or backup plan.
How are your jerseys sized?
Some refer to our sizing as American Sizing. Some call it a Club Fit or True-to-size. You can view our size chart here.
Where are your jerseys produced?
All jerseys are knitted from Australian Merino in China.
Are your jerseys 100% Merino?
Yes. We use Nylong to sew our zippers.
Where can I see examples of jerseys you have previously made?
Visit our Customknit Gallery to see a select group of stunning work.
Are these unisex?
Nope. Men and Women have entirely different target areas therefore we address each in both mens and womens sizes
Can I get Long and Short Sleeve jerseys with my order?
Yes. (hows that for simple?)
Can I get two styles of Zippers?
Once you hit 50 pieces we can have the flexibility to offer Full zips and well as Quarter zip in the production run. Most all of our styles can easily adapt from one to another. However, their are design considerations as the zipper splits the front panel and artwork cannot "cross" the zipper and placket. As always, we want to help maximize your Customknit experience. If you have a desire or concern, do not hesitate to ask!
Can I get mine without the pockets?
Depending on quantity, you can select from Standard three pocket construction; Sewn on rear pocket with Hidden zipper; or No pockets.
What is flocking? Do you do Flock letters?
In this case, flocking is a method of applying an adhesive to a wool jersey and then coating with fiber (think sprinkles on a cupcake). This produces an inferior garment with a shorter lifespan. Because we want you to enjoy your jersey beyond the first wearing we DO NOT FLOCK. Rather, we employ true factory embroidery for an authentic "Vintage" look.
Can I submit my own design?
Please do, it makes our process of design much faster since we can see what you want.
What kind of files do you need?
Adobe Illustrator for all logo's and artwork are required to begin our design process.
What is a Vector art file?
This is easier to explain by stating what it is NOT a RASTER file. "Raster" refers to graphic files composed of PIXELS (all digital photographs) and will feature the suffixes .JPG, .GIF, or BMP. All raster files have set dimensions and limited flexiblity. "Vector" files are points connected by straight or curved lines vectors. These are very flexible easy to resize, alter, change color, etc. Vector files will feature the suffixes of .AI, .EPS. The most popular program to create VECTOR files is Adobe Illustrator. WE INSIST THAT YOU SUPPPLY VECTOR ART to create your jersey. However, if this is not feasible, contact us. In rare cases, we will redraw a clients art for an additional fee. This serves the client both toward their finished jersey and in providing art for future use. Contact us for more information.
Are there any hidden costs?
Nothing hidden. There are three costs that concern you...
- Production Art Fee of $95 with every order.(This does NOT apply to reorders of the same design)
- Price-per-unit as stated on the Order Confirmation
- Shipping is included to all commercial addresses in the continental US. Additional shipping costs apply to home delivery and international shipments. Costs will be determined at time of order and clearly outlined in the Order Confirmation.
Strike-offs and lab dips are all included. We email a JPGs of all strike-offs. For our Silver program you have the choice of having your Strike-off sent to you for a $10 shipping fee. Please select this option on your Order Confirmation prior to signing and faxing back to Earth, Wind and Rider.
How long will it take for me to see my embroidery strike-off?
You should expect to see a copy of your embroidery Strike-off within 3 to 4 weeks from your initial Order.
